Never too old to rock & roll, too young to die - Jethro Tull

Paddy's sudden passing away has touched a deep chord with us - all the memories keep flooding back; our time spent with him... in classrooms, on the sports field, watching him play his music....If there was one thing Paddy would have wanted us to do, it would be to celebrate his life, his passions, his infectious energy.

Let's raise a toast to our dear friend and remember the good times:

Saturday 8th June, 7:00 p.m.
The White Owl, One Indiabulls Center, Tower 2, Senapati Bapat Marg
See you there!
                   - Jo, Neville, Viks, Merchie.

  2. I am sorry to hear of the passing of Paddy. I did not know him well - but I do remember the name more than the person. Clearly he was greatly loved by his fellow classmates and friends. I won't be able to join you as I live overseas. However, my thoughts are with you all as you mourn the loss of a much loved friend and celebrate his life.

  5. Hearing about Paddy really shook me and made me realise the impermanence of things around, life that we take for granted. My brother Sanjay is Paddy's sister Roja's class mate, so I heard through them. Even though we all don't meet regularly, our reunion did kind of bind us all together. I am in Delhi, and unable to come, but my thoughts are with all of you, and deepest condolences to his family.

  7. I can't seem to get Paddy out of my mind. Though we all do not meet or speak often we share a bond - after all we have all grown up together. It is so hard to imagine that he is no longer with us.

I will definitely try and join you on Saturday to raise a toast to him, his music and his life.

    Lots of love, Nusrat

  8. As with all of you, deeply saddened and affected by the news -- always thought that he was someone who would live forever! And, I guess, that he always will -- memories of him, and his love for life, are so strong. It was a special time for all of us, but he best embodied those years, and it is difficult to think of them without thinking of him. After all these years, also makes us realize how strong those bonds are, and how they will always survive. Will not be able to join you all, but please raise a glass to him from me --

  10. I was saddened by the premature passing of our old friend Padman. It reminds one of our own mortality and its inevitability.

Unfortunately, as I live in Australia, I will not be able to attend the celebration of Puddy's life. Although I lost touch with Puddy and many of you after we left school, I vividly recall his abundant and infectious energy and for that we will surely miss him.

Sincere condolences to his family for their loss.

    Regards,
    Sanjeev Patwardhan

  18. I think that there could not be a better way to remember Padman - this is truly what he would have loved best. I have yet to meet someone with a greater zest for life - we had a wonderful lunch together at Sandhya's home just about a month ago....I echo Sujata's comments about the impernance of things..... lets celebrate each day!!

Sadly will not be there - but will raise a glass
    Love to all, Kiran

  19. Padman's life and very successful career is a reminder to us all what the difference is between being merely intelligent and being understanding. Intelligence can often lead to success but understanding leads to much more....he had a natural awareness of how to make everyone around him (even friends he had not been in touch with from the end of our schooldays)feel good. We all saw that rare quality at the reunion! I am sure that all the people he came in touch with after he finished school probably had the same wonderful experience.....behram

  27. Very sad to hear the news of Padman's passing.

Could never have imagined when we met after 38 years at our Reunion that that would be our last meeting.
Fortunately there are several nice pictures of a bunch of us together at Blue Frog. Have been browsing thru them for the last couple of days

May I suggest that we make a collection and donate a Trophy in his memory which can be awarded on Speech Day each year.

Unfortunately, I cannot be there tomorrow but my heart goes out to his family.

  29. I think that's (the award) is a great idea. And in the spirit of what he stood for, it can be a Music trophy...given to a band or individual... I don't think they have one...the details can be worked out.
